Dogwood Farms Trail Ride

 More than 30 riders recently visited Dogwood Farm in Axton, Virginia to compete in the Dogwood Farm Competitive Trail Challenge.

This ride was sanctioned by the American Competitive Trail Horse Association (ACTHA) and competitors traveled from throughout Virginia and North Carolina to participate.

Among the local riders competing were Wanda Rowe of Martinsville who placed 5th in the Pleasure division, Greta Lindamood of Spencer- Buddy Division, Karen Gover of Axton- Pleasure Division.

Stephen Gregory from McDowell, Virginia placed first in the Open division, Hunter Lilies from Danville, Virginia placed first in the Junior Division and Jennifer Mulligan placed sixth in the Pleasure Division.

Gregory also won one of the prizes for the rider who traveled the longest distance to compete in the ride- 148 miles. That prize was sponsored by the Martinsville- Henry County EDC's Tourism & Film Division and Farm Credit.
