Events Focus on Mark Twain Classics

Piedmont Arts will host two events centered around the Mark Twain classics, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Fun with Tom and Huck Senior Day will be held April 11, 2012 from 2 - 4 pm in the Piedmont Arts galleries. This admission free event for senior citizens features a book talk on Tom Sawyer lead by Betty Joe Fulcher from 2:30 - 3:00 pm, a book giveaway and refreshments provided by the Piedmont Arts Guild.

Fun with Tom and Huck Family Day will be held on April 12, 2012 from 2 - 4 pm in the Piedmont Arts galleries. This admission free event, which takes place during spring break, is open to all ages. Kids can take part in fun activities, like making their own raft out of popsicle sticks. Snacks will be provided and each participant will receive a free copy of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer to take home. Tom and Huck Family Day is presented as part of MINDS WIDE OPEN: Virginia Celebrates Children and the Arts 2012, a statewide collaboration of artists, arts organizations and other institutions to present programs focusing on Children and the Arts.
