Expressions Opening Reception

The artwork has been submitted and the Lynwood Artists and the staff of Piedmont Arts are hard at work getting them all displayed. Expressions, the annual showcase of artists within a 100-mile radius of the museum, will be on display at Piedmont Arts from June 1-July 26. A reception and award ceremony will be held on Friday, May 31 at 5:30 p.m.

Mediums represented this year range from watercolor to textiles to 3D sculpture and everything in between. Over 100 artists participated this year, including local students. This exhibit is always an exciting time and honors the amazing creativity that is abundant in the region.

Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in all mediums. Other awards include the People’s Choice, the Lynwood Artists Award, and Best in Show. The Best in Show award is sponsored by Virginia Glass & Mirror. This year, Jennifer Reis, artist and Assistant Professor of Arts Administration at the University of North Carolina Greensboro will serve as judge for the showcase.
