IDEA Center Open House November 13th

On Saturday, November 13, the P&HCC Dalton IDEA is opening its doors wide. The entire community is invited for a hands-on, up-close encounter with Martinsville’s own FabLab and Technology Accelerator. During this free and family-friendly event attendees will encounter the innovative maker technology that has empowered multiple local entrepreneurs to develop and grow their businesses. The Open House will last from 10 am to noon at the college’s Dalton IDEA Center located at 26 Fayette Street in Martinsville.

Attendees will see the 3-D printers that created hundreds of face shields for local healthcare workers during the height of the pandemic. The event is sure to spark any maker-at-heart’s imagination with scores of project examples. Future makers will have a chance to meet and be inspired by successful entrepreneurs who have learned and grown through the IDEA Center. Other demonstrations include virtual reality goggles, and laser engraver, and 3-D Doodler pens.

Martinsville is full of cutting-edge innovation. If you haven’t been to the IDEA Center yet, you may not realize the hub of technology that’s right here,” says Matt Ratliff the college’s Coordinator of Community Development. “With this Open House, we invite you to experience the exciting innovation and come get inspired!”
