It's A Gourd Time In MHC

Fall is in full swing here in Martinsville-Henry County and one of the best things about fall in Virginia is spending time outdoors with family. From trick-or-treating to a corn maze, there are festivities for everyone in MHC.

Mayo River Corn Maze - The Mayo River Corn Maze is back!! Cut out in the 5-acre corn field, Jorden Rea - Owner, did this solely with his imagination and a lawnmower. Join in for a day of games, food and fun down on the farm. Offered on site, for purchase, will be Grilled Sweet Corn, Fried Oreos and Funnel Cakes. Pumpkins available. Hay ride included with admission price. The maze will be open every Saturday and Sunday in October. Admission $8. Saturdays: 10AM - 6PM Sundays: 12PM - 6PM

Grace Network of Martinsville & Henry County Pumpkin Patch – Sold for donation only, those seeking fall outdoor display inspiration and a photo op, flock to this patch.  The funds raised from the event will benefit the clients at Grace Network. The nonprofit organization helps people who experience financial lows and need assistance getting back on their feet. 

Pumpkin patch hours are from 1pm - 7pm Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm on Saturdays and 1pm -5pm on Sundays.

Halloween Happenings

Uptown Martinsville Trick-or-Treat

Bring your family out to the Uptown Martinsville Trick-or-Treating. The event is hosted by numerous Uptown Martinsville merchants, so it’s a guaranteed safe destination to trick-or-treat with your children 12 and under. Make sure to come out Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 4pm - 6pm to truly enjoy this traditional trick-or-treating experience.

Howl-O-Ween at Scuffle Hill Brewing Company

Bring your furry friends out all dressed up for a Howl-O-Ween Party just for them Friday, October 28th from 5pm - 9pm! Best Pupper Costume will be judged at 7pm and Sissy’s Gourmet Dog Treats will be set up and selling her line of fall treats. 

Bonez & Booz 2022

The Virginia Museum of Natural History's will host their first-ever Bonez & Booz Halloween and Fall Festival on Saturday, October 29 from 4pm - 10pm! Fire performances, magic shows, stilt walkers, carnival games, food trucks, a beer garden, live music, and more await you. 

Scuffle Hill’s Halloween Bash and Costume Contest

Scuffle Hill Brewery will be hosting their yearly Halloween Bash on Saturday, October 29th from 7:30pm - Midnight! Jacob Harbour will be live from 7:50pm - 8:50pm as the opening act! The Andy Burnette & Jake Earles Duo Show take the stage from 9pm - Midnight! Costume Contest will be judged around 10pm -10:30pm for the best costume, with prizes for the winners of course!

Mayhem at Mountain Valley

Mountain Valley Brewing is looking forward to a fantastically creepy and fun-filled Halloween party and costume contest. DJ Chuck(y) will be spinning all sorts of craziness, so come dance away the evening. Party starts at 7pm!

Halloween Hayride

Come out to Jack Dalton Park Monday, October 31st from 6pm - 8pm, for a hayride around the park and thanks to the Martinsville/Henry County 4H, the hayride will get spookier and spookier as the evening goes on. Trunk-or-Treat will be set up in the parking lot.

Halloween Haunted House at Bassett Train Depot

Bring your children to a Halloween Haunted House at the Bassett Train Station Event Center. Monday, October 31st from 6pm - 8pm Free Admission & a Spooky Good Time!!
