LOVE has come to Martinsville Speedway

The Martinsville-Henry County EDC’s Tourism Office is excited to announce that LOVE is in the air at Martinsville Speedway; 96 feet high, to be exact!  The Tourism Office will be welcoming race fans in a new way beginning at the STP 500 weekend, with a new sign at the main gate entrance. The design plays on the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s (VTC) LOVE letters marketing campaign, which promotes all of the reasons, why Virginia is For Lovers. The sign, which stands 96’ H and is 18’ W, will be one of the first things guests see when entering the main gates at Martinsville Speedway.

“Martinsville and Henry County has welcomed our fans and spectators with open arms to Martinsville Speedway for 70+ years. We are extremely excited about the partnership with the EDC, the Virginia Tourism Corporation, and Visit Martinsville. Being able to showcase the LOVE that the Commonwealth of Virginia and this community shows our guests and fans is unparalleled”, said Clay Campbell, president of Martinsville Speedway.

“Racing has deep roots in Virginia, and is an important contributor to our tourism economy,” said Rita McClenny, president and CEO of Virginia Tourism Corporation. “The Martinsville Speedway is an iconic destination for racing fans, and the addition of the new LOVE banner will be the perfect visual to show travelers from around the country that Virginia is for Racing Lovers.”

Sarah Hodges, Director of Tourism for Martinsville-Henry County, says, “We are so excited to have the opportunity to welcome fans to Martinsville speedway in such a big way! We want our fans to know how much we appreciate them coming to Martinsville and supporting our town and track.”
