More Bands Join Turn 5 Lineup

Musical acts Madrone and E.T.A. have been added to Rooster Walk's Turn 5 Concert Series, thus completing the six-band lineup that will take the stage Oct. 25-26 beside Martinsville Speedway. The concerts, which will take place during the Speedway's NASCAR race weekend, will be headlined by nationally touring Southern rock/country band Blackberry Smoke.

Madrone is one of Roanoke's most popular alternative-rock bands. This four-piece has taken their melodic, emotive brand of alt-rock on the road in the past three years, playing more than 150 shows annually. Their most recent single garnered national radio support, peaking at No. 47 on the national mainstream rock charts, according to band member J.D. Sutphin. Madrone will play its Turn 5 set at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, immediately before The Worx perform at 10 p.m.

E.T.A. is a Martinsville-based band featuring E.C. Hundley, Tawni Hundley and Ashley Wimmer. Formed just months ago, the three members have more than 80 years of combined on-stage experience with previous bands. E.T.A. plays a wide variety of popular songs from the past and present. They will perform at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, immediately before Madrone.

Live music on Saturday, Oct. 26, will start with the rock/blues sounds of Martinsville's Tenured Soul at 6 p.m. Old Southern Moonshine Revival, a North Carolina-based country act, will play around 8 p.m. The weekend headliner, Blackberry Smoke, will take the stage at 10 p.m. Saturday night.

"We couldn't be happier with this year's Turn 5 lineup," said Rooster Walk co-founder William Baptist. "It's a great mix of rock and country with local and nationally touring bands. It's going to be an awesome weekend of music and racing."

A two-night pass for all six bands costs just $20 if purchased in advance ($25 at the gate). Single-day tickets cost $10 for Friday and $15 for Saturday. Tickets are now on sale at www.roosterwalk.com or www.brownpapertickets.com. Physical tickets are available at Woodall's Music in Collinsville.

The Turn 5 concert venue is located at 423 Clover Road, within easy walking distance of Martinsville Speedway and its fan campgrounds.

Rooster Walk Inc. is dedicated to promoting music, art and education in Martinsville and Henry County.
