Mustangs Announce Community Jersey Signing Event

The Martinsville Mustangs have announced a brand new home jersey for the 2015 season.

The Mustangs have described the new look as a unique “community jersey” that will feature signatures from fans of the team, and various leaders in the community. On Saturday March 14th, from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M., all fans are invited to Hooker Field to sign their name that will then be featured on the jerseys.

Every Mustangs player will wear the names of Martinsville/Henry County community members for the entire 2015 season as a way to represent the strong connection between Martinsville and the Mustangs.

"This jersey is the first of its kind in the industry,” said President Jesse Cole. “We thought what better way to get the entire community involved this season, than to have their names on our home jersey. Our success has been built from the great community support and now everyone will have the opportunity to be a part of the Mustangs!"

The jersey signing event is part of the Mustangs annual Pi Day event. Pi is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, which is rounded down to 3.14, hence the March 14th date. In addition to the jersey signing, Opening Day tickets will be on sale for $3.14, all merchandise will be 31.4 percent off, and every fan that makes a purchase will be allowed to pie a Mustangs staff member in the face.

In addition to Mustangs tickets plans, Ballpark Beer Fest tickets are also now on sale. For more information, visit www.martinsvillemustangs.com or call the front office at 276-403-5250.
