New Resources Available to Promote MHC

The Martinsville-Henry County EDC's Tourism Division is pleased to announce the launch of the new 2014-2015 Martinsville-Henry County Activity Guide and Map Pad.

The 28-page Activity Guide contains information about area attractions, dining, shopping, lodging and events. Reflecting the colors and design elements of the Tourism Division's new branding effort, the Activity Guide shows both residents and visitors how to have "Fun in Record Time." Approximately 30,000 copies of the Activity Guide were printed and have been distributed to all Virginia State Welcome Centers, state-certified Visitor Centers, local information kiosks and area businesses.

In addition to the Activity Guide, the Tourism Division also partnered with Martinsville Uptown to produce a companion Map Pad. 250 large note pads were produced, each containing 100 tear-off maps. One side of the map features Henry County and the other side has an inset of the City of Martinsville. The matte paper allows front desk staff at area attractions and hotels to highlight directions to popular points of interest in the community.

According to Jennifer Doss, Director of Tourism for Martinsville-Henry County, "Each year we carefully listen to feedback from our partners and visitors to learn what we can do to continue improving the Activity Guide. This edition is the most comprehensive one yet, and we hope that both visitors and residents will find it to be informative."

New elements to the guide include a list of transportation options that details cabs, airport shuttles and the PART bus route. A locator map is provided for area trails to show proximity to one another and more musical venues are listed in this publication than in any previous versions.

Heather Hoffman, Visitor Services Coordinator at the Martinsville-Henry County Visitor Center, says that "We've received nothing but great feedback from visitors so far," referring to the new Activity Guide. "We believe that this edition will help us promote Martinsville-Henry County in a positive light and showcase all the great things to see and do here," she added.

Copies of the new Activity Guide can be picked up at the state-certified Martinsville-Henry County Visitor Center on Moss Street in Martinsville. Businesses wishing to have copies of the Activity Guide and/or Map Pad to display should call 276.632.8006.
