New Orleans Inspired Spring Concert Scheduled for PHCC Jazz Band

The Jazz Band of Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) is bringing a New Orleans flavor to their spring concert. On Friday, March 9. The Jazz Band will be performing a variety of arrangements reminiscent of the New Orleans-style jazz such as “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “Bye Bye Blackbird.” The event, which will take place in PHCC’s Walker Fine Arts and Student Center Theatre will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.

PHCC’s Jazz Band is a selective ensemble comprised of students from PHCC’s Music Specialization program as well as music enthusiasts from the student body and the community. The aim of the program is to provide students with a competitive and performing musical outlet during their interim years between high school and a four-year university.
