Piedmont Arts On Stage presents Annual Roanoke Symphony Holiday Pops Concert

Celebrating 10 years of holiday magic, Piedmont Arts will again bring Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Chorus’ annual Holiday Pops concert to its On Stage performing arts series.

Featuring over 200 musicians, the Symphony’s concert will include holiday classics, a carol sing-a-long and performances by Midwest Emmy®-winning soprano, Adrienne Danrich.

“I and we are thrilled to return to perform for our friends and neighbors in Martinsville,” said Roanoke Symphony Orchestra Music Director David Stewart Wiley. “This year’s Holiday Pops promises to be the biggest and best yet, with superstar vocalist Adrienne Danrich joining me, our beloved symphony and RSO Chorus.”

Danrich’s voice has been described as “fresh liquid-silver” and “meltingly tender in its high, floating vulnerability” by Opera News. She made her soloist debut at Carnegie Hall with the New England Symphonic Ensemble. Most recently, she sang the role of Serena in Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess with Dayton Opera and Sister Rose in Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking with Fort Worth Opera. Danrich has also performed with Kenya Opera in various venues throughout Africa in Nairobi and Mombasa.

Piedmont Arts On Stage presents Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Chorus Holiday Pops on Sunday, December 6 at Martinsville High School Auditorium (351 Commonwealth Blvd). The concert will begin at 7 pm. The auditorium box office will open at 6 pm.

Tickets are $25 for reserved seats, $15 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are on sale now at Piedmont Arts (215 Starling Ave.), by calling 276.632.3221 and online at PiedmontArts.org.

Non-Perishable Food Drive
During the concert, Piedmont Arts will collect canned goods for Grace Network of Martinsville and Henry County. Non-perishable food donations will be collected in the Martinsville High School Auditorium lobby beginning at 6 pm. These donations will help local families in need this holiday season.
