Smith River Fest Offers Fun for All Ages

The 6th Annual Smith River Fest will be held on Saturday, August 10th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and festival organizers have planned a great day of outdoor fun for participants to enjoy. The event has nearly tripled in size this year with more than 100 vendors and activity areas offered. There is no admission charge to attend the festival, which is held at the Smith River Sports Complex off Irisburg Road in Henry County, Virginia. 

Highlights of the event will be the Smith River Race and The Helgramite Hustle 5K Mud Run. Festival-goers will be able to enjoy live music, vendors, demonstrations and a beer garden. Vendors will offer recreational gear, jewelry, crafts, massages, regional wines and more. Children attending the event can enjoy the free bouncy houses and climbing wall, educational booths, petting zoo and free canoe rides. 

There are still a limited number of vendor booths available for businesses and organizations. The application can be found online at www.SmithRiverFest.com and the deadline to register for a booth is August 2nd.
