'Jimmy Jams' memorial show is Sat., Aug. 28th at Pop's Farm

On Sat., Aug. 28th we'll remember Rooster Walk emcee, sax player, dentist, college football player and all-around amazing human Jimmy Jordan with three sets of stellar music! Arts at the Rives season passes will be accepted, and on-site camping is available.

Jimmy played sax with countless bands over the years, and we'll have two of those on the bill for this show: PumpHouse blues band from Richmond, as well as Slick Jr. & The Reactors from SWVA. We're also bringing in legendary sax player Ron Holloway (Dizzy Gillespie, Gov't Mule, Susan Tedeschi) to sit in throughout the night in honor of "Dr. J."

We'll end the fun with a Grateful Dead tribute set (Jimmy's favorite band) featuring Slate Lacy on lead guitar & vocals, Holloway on sax, Jake Dempsey on bass, Jon Barker on keys and multiple members of Slick Jr. It's gonna be groovy, man.
