Richard P. Gravely Jr. Nature Preserve Trail
At 2.5 miles long, the Richard P. Gravely Jr. Nature Preserve Trail is an outdoor lovers dream. Two miles of wooded trail are found on the property along with an outdoor classroom for nature study. A self-guided tour along the Jones Cliff Trail leads guests back in time as they explore tobacco farming in the early 1900s and the Burgess Family plantation of the 1800s. Rhododendron Trail, another more difficult trail, leads hikers along the scenic Smith River and through a living tunnel of Rhododendron.
