Annual Curb Appeal Awards

Gateway Streetscape Foundation recognizes individuals and businesses that are striving to make our community more appealing through attractive landscape design and/or environmental restoration of degraded landscapes, such as solving erosion problems, removing illegal trash dumps, or removing invasive species and replanting with native species. 

Nominations may be made for any property in the following six (6) categories: Residential Curb Appeal -City of Martinsville; Residential Curb Appeal - County of Henry; Commercial Curb Appeal - City of Martinsville; Commercial Curb Appeal - County of Henry; Environmental Restoration Award - City of Martinsville; and Environmental Restoration Award - County of Henry.

Any resident of Martinsville or Henry County may mail, fax, or email Gateway to nominate a private residence or a commercial property for a Curb Appeal Award. Each nomination should include at least one picture, a detailed description of the landscape design or landscape restoration, a street address, directions to the property, the full name of the property owner(s), and contact information for the submitter. Nominations must be received in the Gateway Streetscape Foundation office by 5:00PM, Friday, November 16, 2012. Gateway may be contacted by mail at P. O. All nominated properties will be judged by the Gateway Board of Directors and receive a letter of congratulations from the Director of Gateway Streetscape Foundation. Category winners will be presented with a plaque at Gateway's annual December breakfast meeting. Nominate a landscape today and reward local citizens who have made our area more beautiful and appealing!
