Auditions for Mary Poppins start September 5

Auditions for the Patriot Players’ next show Mary Poppins – The Musical start September 5. Come dance on roof tops and fly kites in the park. Auditions are scheduled in the Walker Theater at Patrick Henry Community College on:

• Monday, September 5; 6:00-9:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, September 7; 6:00-9:00 p.m.
• Saturday, September 10; 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Those selected during auditions become part of a popular and iconic Disney tale and “practically perfect” musical. To schedule an audition time, email dpendleton@patrickhenry.edu. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Actors must be over seven years of age to audition. Those auditioning should prepare 16-32 bars of song or roughly one verse and one chorus. Performers can sing a cappella or bring an MP3 instrumental track. An accompanist will not be provided.

Rehearsals tentatively begin Sunday, October 2. Performance dates are November 25-27 and December 1-4. The Patriot Players are PHCC’s theater troupe which offers students and community members the opportunity to gain onstage experience while learning about the theater profession.
