Chamber Music Returns to PHCC June 3

The Chamber Music Ensemble has always attracted a wide variety of performers – from professionals to students, from music majors to church pianists, from flautists to saxophone players. This summer, the ensemble is playing to the strength of variety.

“Normally, we choose a theme for our program, but this year, I’ve let all our musicians just choose whatever piece they please to create an expected miscellany of sounds and styles – and, appropriately, we’ve called it “Anything Goes,” says the ensemble’s Director Deborah Burgess.

The program ranges from classical to modern and features a variety of unexpected arrangements such as Six Metamorphoses After Ovid for the oboe or the Great Train Race for the Flute.

The ensemble performs in Patrick Henry Community College’s Walker Theatre on Sunday, June 3 at 3pm. Tickets are available at the door. Adult tickets are $10. Student tickets are $5. For more information, contact Deborah Burgess at dmb23811@email.vccs.edu or 276-647-1914.
