Econo Lodge Wins 2014 Gold Award

The management team and staff of the Econo Lodge in Martinsville were notified this past week that they have won a 2014 Gold Award, presented by Choice Hotels International.

According to Stephen P. Joyce, President and CEO of Choice Hotels, “the Gold Award is presented to only the top hotels in each brand.” The top hotels are identified by Choice Hotel’s Property Ranking System, an automated survey sent to each hotel customer to determine guest satisfaction. 

A total of 49 Econo Lodge Brand hotels in the nation received a Gold Award and Martinsville, which ranked #42, was among only three in the Commonwealth of Virginia to be recognized. Other Virginia Econo Lodge locations awarded were in Arlington and Glade Spring.

The Martinsville Econo Lodge is operated by Linda Boyd, General Manager and Jeanette Handy, Guest Relations manager. 

According to Boyd, “There are 687 Econo Lodge's in the U.S. and to be # 42 is a great accomplishment to the entire staff; we are very proud to be honored.”
