Exhibit Opens Tomorrow At Piedmont Arts

Continuum of Being, Imagining Art Opening Saturday at Piedmont Arts

Piedmont Arts members, prospective members and guests are invited to attend a Members-Only Reception in honor of the exhibits, Continuum of Being, featuring work by Floyd artist Gibby Waitzkin and Imagining Art by fiber artist Ursula Allen. Complimentary wine and refreshments will be served.

This event remains admission free through the membership support of people like you.

Dancing for the Arts Hits the Stage March 22

Join Piedmont Arts for a fabulous fundraiser featuring local celebrities dancing in support of the arts in Martinsville and Henry County. This Dancing with the Stars-style contest features eight teams of dancers competing to win the most votes.

Dancing for the Arts will take place live at Martinsville High School Auditorium and will be broadcast live on Star News on Saturday, Mar 22. During the live performance, supporters of the arts are invited to vote for their favorite couple. Each vote raises money to support Piedmont Arts programming in our area and helps your favorite couple win the big prize-a gorgeous mirror ball trophy.

Bus Trip to Virginia Quilt Museum

Virginia Foothills Quilters Guild invites guests on a bus trip to the Virginia Quilt Museum in Harrisonburg to view exhibits and take part in a lecture on how to properly care for quilts.

Call for Artists: Expressions 2014

Piedmont Arts and Lynwood Artists encourage artists living within a 100-mile radius of Martinsville to enter work in the museum's annual open-entry exhibition, Expressions.

All artists may enter work at Piedmont Arts on Saturday, April 26 from 10 am - 1 pm. No more than two works may be submitted by each artist and all works must adhere to the guidelines found in the Expressions 2014 Prospectus. Lynwood Artists members and students may also enter work on Thursday, April 24 from 4 - 6 pm at the museum.

Expressions is a judged exhibition with cash prizes awarded for first, second and third place in eight categories, as well as purchase awards, the Lynwood Artists Award and Best In Show. This year's exhibition will be judged by Della Watkins, Executive Director at the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke, Virginia.

Expressions 2014 will open on Friday, May 9 with a Members-Only Reception and Awards Ceremony from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Piedmont Arts members, prospective members, exhibiting artists and guests are invited to attend. The exhibition will be on display at the museum May 10 through July 4.
