International Dance Day

Did you know that April 29th, is International Dance Day? This week you can celebrate in Martinsville-Henry County by taking line dance class, enjoying a salsa lesson, grooving while your child sings or by listening to the soulful sounds of a regional favorite.

Beginning Line Dance and Line Dance Level II classes, through Patrick Henry Community College, are starting back up on Thursday, April 28th and will run weekly through May 26th. Beginner Line Dance will be from 6:30 to 7:30pm and Line Dance Level II will be from 7:30 to 8:30pm. Cost: is $25 for each session with internationally recognized choreographer, Sue Ann Ehmann.

Spice up your Wednesday night or your regular dancing routine with an evening of salsa dancing at Mtn’ Jax. Salsa lessons begin at 8:00 p.m. followed by social dancing at 9:00. $5 cover charge.

Kids can get into the fun too with Kid's Karaoke & Character Night at El Norteno on Wednesday night. From 6:00-8:00, kids can embrace their inner superstar while singing and dancing to the music! Parents can dance along too!

Regional favorite, the Foddrell Band, will be at Mtn' Jax on Friday beginning at 8:00 p.m. Enjoy their unique blend of blues and jazz while you enjoy a delicious dinner. The Foddrell Band has been entertaining folks all around the Southwestern region of Virginia for years and offer a truly soulful sound.
