Join Martinsville-Henry County Film Coordinator Beth Stinnett, for a special drop-in networking session at the state-certified Martinsville-Henry County Visitor Center on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 1-4 pm. Stinnett will discuss what the MHC Film Office is doing and how you can be a part of the efforts. If you are an actor, actress, or have production assistance experience, equipment or have property that you would like to discuss for possible film projects, then the MHC Film Office would love to speak with you.

This will be an informal way for you to connect with the local Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) certified film office and learn how you can become a potential candidate to be considered when projects and opportunities arise. This open call for the Martinsville-Henry County Film Office will be held to meet you and discuss your interests, talents and or property. If you have headshots or pictures of previous work or of your personal property, please bring them along for quicker access for future projects.

The Martinsville - Henry County Film Office works in partnership with the Association of Film Commissioners International, Virginia Film Office and Reel-Scout to promote our area and the amenities it has to offer to filmmakers and production companies. According to Stinnett, “This networking session is a great way for us to bring awareness of the Martinsville-Henry County Film Office to our community, and region, and also for our office to build closer working relationships with those who share the passion of filmmaking in MHC.  Our partnerships with the Virginia Film Office, AFCI and Reel-Scout, combined with those strong connections to our area’s film professionals, will make the MHC Film Office a major contender when it comes to attracting film projects to our community.” Data released by the Virginia Film office reports that the economic impact of Filmmaking in Virginia in 2012 was $328.4 million. Stinnett added that “The Martinsville-Henry County Film Office plans to be a larger contributor to that figure in the coming years.”
