Meet two Martinsville Insiders, Bea Bullard and Alice Anne Gwynn. Bea and Alice Anne are the Co-Chairmen for the Fieldale Heritage Festival that is held annually. They both love the area and the warm, caring atmosphere Martinsville-Henry County holds. They are actively involved in their churches, Fieldale Baptist Church and Fieldale United Methodist Church, and love helping in the community whenever they can. The Fieldale Heritage Festival was also voted "Top 20 in Southeastern US for 2011," which Bea and Alice Anne are very proud of. What are your top activities to do or see in Martinsville-Henry County?

"We love to visit and dine at the historic Virginia Home Inn in Fieldale and other historic places. Walking on our numerous walking trails especially the Fieldale Trail while enjoying nature along the Smith River. The now beautiful and well-kept Fieldale Ball Park is available for games, recreation, picnics, celebrations, etc."

What are your top Martinsville-Henry County dining spots?

"We love going to Garfield's and Denton's Fieldale Cafe'. They offer the best quick eating with no reservations!"  

What is the most interesting tidbit about the Fieldale Heritage Festival?

"Fieldale Heritage Festival has tons of music, lawn & gym exhibits, children's activities, and crafts all for free. You only need to buy certain foods or crafts if you so desire."
