Meet Bernadette Moore

Meet a Martinsville Insider, Bernadette Moore.  This Hillsville native has worked at Piedmont Arts for six years and has really helped their marketing not only locally but regionally as well.  Just by listening to her, you can tell she has a true passion and love for what she does.  Here are some on Bernadette's tips for enjoying Martinsville-Henry County, Virginia.

Where do you take friends and family when they come to town?

"When my friends and family visit Martinsville, we visit Piedmont Arts, shop at Liberty Fair Mall and Studio 107 and have a great meal at Wild Magnolias." 

Where do you go to enjoy sports and recreation?

"J. Frank Wilson Park is a wonderful place to walk and play disc golf in the summer." 

Where do you go to enjoy Martinsville-Henry County's arts-and-entertainment scene?

"Piedmont Arts has fantastic exhibits that are admission free.  There's no better place to find exhibits by national, international, and regional artists in our area.  The arts scene is also thriving in Uptown, where First Friday Art Walks are a great place to shop for local art at Studio 107 and see live artisan concerts at The Rives Theatre.  The Artisan Center also has fantastic work by local artists."  

What is the most interesting tidbit about Piedmont Arts?

"The most interesting tidbit about Piedmont Arts is that exhibits, educational programs and many special events in the galleries are free of charge!" 

What are your top Martinsville-Henry County dining spots and why?

"My favorite dining place in Martinsville-Henry County is Wild Magnolia.  The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is great for hanging out with friends." 

Tell us about your favorite places to shop. 

"I love to shop at Studio 107 for homemade jewelry and artwork.  I also like to check out the clothing at Pieces and the housewares at our many furniture stores."
