Patriot Players to Offer Singing Telegrams

As a special fundraiser for the Patriot Players at Patrick Henry Community College, the performing arts group will offer $25 singing telegrams for Valentine’s Day to Martinsville and Henry County residents.

Telegrams include a Patriot Player delivering a 1-2 minute song, a single-stemmed rose and card to a person and location of the requestor’s choosing. Patriot Players will try and accommodate special song requests and different genres.

“We have so much talent within the Patriot Players, and we want to utilize that talent as much as possible,” said Patriot Players Program Director Devin Pendleton. “Organizing these singing telegrams is a unique way for us to create a positive impact in our community, and for people in our community to support our area’s performing arts. We are very grateful to everyone who can contribute to the success of our program.”

Telegrams will be delivered on Friday, Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pendleton said it’s a great gift idea for someone who may not know what to get their significant other, family member or friend.

Cash or checks are accepted and some restrictions will apply. All proceeds will benefit the Patriot Players. To schedule a singing valentine, email dpendleton@patrickhenry.edu or call (276) 638-8777 ext. 0460. Limited spots are available.

Please note this service will not be used as a means to a breakup or divorce. All requests for singing telegrams to places of businesses (restaurants, office buildings, etc.) must be approved in advance by managers or store owners.
