Patriot Trail Run Scheduled for October 17

 Patrick Henry Community College has scheduled the third annual Patriot Trail Run 5K for October 17. The event will take place on the PHCC Campus and will include scenic trails, obstacles and fitness stations. Different from past years, the 2015 Trail Run will include competitive races and a Fun Run. The competitive race starts at 9:00am with the Fun Run starting at 9:30am. All runners will start and finish at Stone Hall. Last year’s event included 50 participants, with some traveling from Danville and Greensboro. All trail run participants will also have free admission to the Lady Patriots volleyball game against Vance Granville in Stone Hall, following the race at noon.

Registration fees are $45 for the competitive races, $35 for the Fun Run group and $20 for all area students and teachers with a valid ID. To pre-register, you can call race director J.R. Smith at 276-656-0200 ext. 0423 or sign-up online at active.com and search “Patrick Henry Community College.” Registration will also take place on the day of the event starting at 7:30am.

All participants will receive a trail run goodie bag and participants that pre-register will receive a dry fit t-shirt. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Patrick Henry Community College Athletic Department. For more information, visit www.athletics.patrickhenry.edu.
