 Lean the art of beautiful handwriting with artist Karen Eggleston! Create elegant lettering in the Italic style to add a special touch to invitations, place cards, artwork and more.

Herbs for Love

 February is the month for love. Learn how herbs have been used through throughout time as love "potions" and even make some of your own! Session will include discussion of myths and lore and the role of herbs in the timeless pursuit of love.

POTTERY with Jessica McAlexander

Wheel-Thrown Pottery (Mixed Level)

 Learn the fine art of wheel-thrown ceramics! Beginning students will learn basic throwing technique, with a focus on centering, making cylinders, bowls and perhaps your first teapot. We will discuss various throwing methods, wheel-trimming, and adding handles, lids etc. The class is also open to students with some wheel-throwing experience who would like to continue developing their skills. Students wishing to glaze their pieces may do so in Surface Decoration & Glazing class.

JEWELRY with Susan Weeks

Intro to Beaded Jewelry

The Introduction to Beading Class is a well-rounded overview of beading which covers different beading techniques available, different types of beads, the differences of metals, different tools and when to use them, and supplies. The class provides students with step-by-step instructions on the different ways to create and close off a piece of jewelry using stretch elastic, memory wire, multiple strands, lariats, and strung pieces. The techniques can be used to create limitless original pieces. This class gives students both a practical knowledge base, and ideas on how to spark their imaginations to express themselves creatively.

QUILTING with Karen Despot

Quilting 101

This class is for those students who want to learn how to start and finish a quilt and learn new tips and tricks for piecing, hand sewing and machine quilting. Students will complete a sampler project to show off their new skills. Supply list will be available upon registration.

Advanced Quilting Techniques

This class is for the experienced quilter. Open lab for completing assignments or individual designs and to work in a self-paced, supportive and creative environment. Teaching staff will assist with ideas, motivation, suggestions and techniques. Prerequisite: Four sessions of Quilting 101 or instructor approval. Students must purchase own supplies.

PHOTOGRAPHY with Ricky Dawson

Intermediate Nuts & Bolts of Your Digital Camera

Students will gain a deeper understanding of how to use the advanced buttons and settings on their own digital cameras. Learn how each change of the sub-menus will affect your photos and how the buttons are there to help. This class will be held both inside and outside to help students understand and think what would work best in this area. Please bring your owner's manual and digital camera.

Intro to Swing Dance (East Coast) with Mark Setliff

Learn the basics of East Coast Swing, aka the Jitterbug, in this fun and easy class! Students will learn proper frame, leading and following, while performing moves like the 6-count East Coast basic step, loop turn, arch turn, belt turn, and much more. Class time includes both instruction and practice. No experience or partner necessary. (Artisan Center)

Contemporary Line Dance with Sue-Ann Ehmann

Beginner Line Dance

This class will introduce the Beginner dancer to basic Line Dance steps and incorporate those steps into fun, easy dances to a wide variety of music genres. Learn dances to your favorite Pop, Country, Oldies, Show Tunes, etc. Line Dance is a proven stress reliever and an excellent way to fit exercise and fitness into your lives. No partner necessary!

Line Dance Level II

This class is designed for the dancer who has command of basic beginner steps and wants to learn dances that are a bit more challenging. Prior completion of Beginner Line Dance is required, or may enroll with instructor approval. Have fun dancing to a variety of music genres while improving your strength, stamina, and overall health. No partner necessary!
