Summer Chamber Music Recital to take place at PHCC
Summer’s warm air and long days hail graduating seniors and much-needed vacations. In the theme of the season, this summer’s Chamber Music Recital is entitled “Going Places.” On Sunday, June 11 community members can indulge their wanderlust with a menagerie of pieces celebrating distant lands, different cultures, and daring adventures.
The Chamber Music Ensemble – a company of professional, collegiate, and community musicians – will perform traditional folk songs and cultural classics from Ireland, Brazil, Hungry, Armenia, and more. The concert begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 11 in Patrick Henry Community College’s Walker Fine Arts Theatre.
“We are delighted to bring music from around the world to Martinsville. We will have such a mix – from a tango to an Irish jig, from Brahms to Khatchaturian. We are playing something for almost every musical taste. It should be a fun afternoon,” says the ensemble’s coordinator, Deborah Burgess.
Tickets will be available at the door. Adult tickets are $10. Student tickets are $5. For more information contact PHCC at 276-638-8777.
