The 2017-18 season of "2nd Thursday Science Talks" kicks-off on Thursday

The 2017-18 season of "2nd Thursday Science Talks" kicks-off on Thursday, October 12 at 6 p.m. at the museum!  This season's series focuses on Virginia's natural resources and how they are used for recreation and tourism.  Brian Williams, Virginia program manager for the Dan River Basin Association (DRBA), will discuss the Association and how it works to promote the history, natural resources, and unique features of the Dan River valley region that straddles the state dividing line between Virginia and North Carolina.

"2nd Thursday Science Talks" take place on the second Thursday of each month from October through May.  The hour-long presentations take place from 6 to 7 p.m.  Attendance is free thanks to generous contributions of all sizes to the VMNH Discovery Fund.  Presentations are delivered by VMNH curators, research associates and collaborating scientists.  Geared towards audiences with a keen interest in science, the presentations also increase awareness of the varied and unique scientific career paths available for students.
