Virginia Tech and Ohio Added to Tournament Bracket

On Friday, Martinsville-Henry County, Virginia will host the National Club Baseball Association’s (NCBA) Division I Mid-Atlantic Regional. The double-elimination tournament will be held May 13-15 at Hooker Field. 

Teams playing in the tournament include East Carolina University, Virginia Tech, Ohio State University and Ohio University.

Games begin on Friday at 4:00 pm when No. 2 seed Virginia Tech plays No. 3 seed Ohio State University. At 7:00 pm, the No. 1 seed East Carolina University will play No. 4 seed Ohio University.

Additional games will be played Saturday, May 14 at 9 am, 12 pm and 3 pm and Sunday, May 15 at 9 am. A tie-breaker game will be played at 12 pm, if needed. A rain date has been set for Monday, May 16 in the event of an extended delay in the tournament schedule.

Admission is $5 for Friday and Sunday, and $10 on Saturday. Children five and under are free with a paying adult.

The Martinsville Community Recreation Association will sell concessions as fans will not be allowed to bring outside food or beverages into the stadium. All proceeds from ticket sales and concessions will benefit Hooker Field and the Martinsville-Henry County EDC’s Tourism Division will sell area souvenirs.

All athletes will stay locally at the Quality-Dutch Inn of Collinsville which was selected by the NCBA as their host hotel. Fans and athletes can follow the tournament online at www.Facebook.com/NCBAinMHC.

This event is a partnership between the NCBA, Martinsville-Henry County EDC’s Tourism Division, the City of Martinsville and the Martinsville Community Recreation Association.
