In between the busy race weeks he enjoys spending time being involved in the community. Here are his insider tips for enjoying Martinsville-Henry County.

Where do you take friends and family when they come to town?

"I like to show off some of our many natural resources like Philpott Lake, the Smith River and walking trails. And of course a tour of Martinsville Speedway. My grandkid's favorite spot is the playground at the Smith River Sports Complex."

Where do you go to enjoy sports and recreation?

"I think two great options here are fishing the Smith River or taking advantage of one of the area's many golf courses."

What is the best kept secret in Martinsville-Henry County?

"I don't think outsiders have a clue about the great quality of life here. Housing is inexpensive. We have good schools. We have good restaurants. And we have a strong, resurgent arts and entertainment community."

What's the best part of raising a family in Martinsville-Henry County?

"The pace of life. You have time to enjoy the wonder years with your kids."
